These requirements help ensure funding and support are directed toward projects and organizations that advance energy efficiency, manufacturing investment, consumer protection, and long-term sustainability across North America.
Customer Contribution Assistance Grant (CCAG)
Applicants may qualify for CCAG funding if:
- The project has received an approved utility rebate or qualifying incentive
- The project was completed within the program's allowable timeframe
- Supporting documentation can be provided
- The project complies with all program requirements
- Funding remains available

USMCA Manufacturing Grant
Manufacturers may qualify for funding if they are:
- Establishing manufacturing operations within the United States, Canada, or Mexico
- Expanding existing manufacturing capacity
- Relocating production facilities or production lines
- Investing in projects that strengthen North American supply chains
- Undertaking qualifying manufacturing investments within the USMCA region

Vendor participation requirements
To help protect grant recipients and promote responsible business practices, NAECE may establish participation requirements for manufacturers, distributors, contractors, and other organizations appearing on NAECE listings or participating in NAECE-supported projects.
Manufacturers

- •Clearly published warranty policies
- •Compliance with applicable regulations
- •Accurate product claims and marketing materials
- •A commitment to responsible business practices
Distributors
- •Active business registration
- •Appropriate insurance coverage

- •Product traceability and warranty support procedures
- •A commitment to customer service and consumer protection
Contractors
- •Valid licensing where applicable
- •Appropriate insurance coverage
- •Compliance with local regulations
- •Good standing within their industry
- •A commitment to professional installation and customer service
Insurance requirements
NAECE believes consumers should be protected throughout the supply chain. Participating organizations may be required to maintain appropriate insurance coverage, which may include:
- Commercial General Liability Insurance
- Product Liability Insurance
- Professional Liability Insurance (where applicable)
- Workers' Compensation Coverage (where applicable)
Specific requirements may vary based on industry, project type, and jurisdiction.
Warranty and consumer protection standards
NAECE supports manufacturers and suppliers that stand behind their products and services. Organizations may be reviewed for:
- Warranty coverage
- Warranty claim procedures
- Product support resources
- Customer service practices
- Availability of replacement parts
- Responsiveness to customer concerns
Organizations with warranty practices that are deemed unreasonable, misleading, or inconsistent with consumer protection principles may be deemed ineligible for participation.
Compliance and industry integrity
NAECE may consider publicly available information relating to:
