How NAECE members and participants may use the NAECE logos and trademarks.
Why this policy exists
The North American Energy Cooperation Effort (NAECE) logos and trademarks comprise pending applications or registered trademarks across various jurisdictions, including the United States, Mexico, Canada, Europe, and China. As assets of considerable worth, the utilization and safeguarding of all NAECE trademarks must be diligently observed.
The NAECE logos and trademarks hold significance not only for NAECE but also for all associated NAECE members, particularly equipment manufacturers whose products are listed within the NAECE domain. Consistent adherence to these guidelines in all communication and marketing safeguards the investments made by every NAECE stakeholder and bolsters consumer confidence in the NAECE brand.
Authorized use
Third parties, defined as individuals or entities other than NAECE and those expressly authorized by NAECE, are strictly prohibited from utilizing the NAECE logos and trademarks without prior authorization. The logos and trademarks must be consistently employed in accordance with the specified parameters, serving to identify either NAECE or participation in the NAECE program. Any deviation from the prescribed specifications is prohibited.
Participants in the NAECE program agree to abide by these guidelines and all other pertinent NAECE rules and policies, which may be updated periodically. Participants acknowledge NAECE as the exclusive proprietor of the NAECE logos and trademarks and agree to refrain from any actions that may impinge upon NAECE's rights. Any accrued goodwill arising from the use of the logos and trademarks accrues solely to the benefit of NAECE.
NAECE regularly reviews stakeholders' use of the logos and trademarks across all mediums, including specification sheets, websites, and promotional materials. In instances of non-compliance, NAECE may demand modifications and, in cases of persistent breaches, may terminate participation in the NAECE program.
Who may use the NAECE logo
NAECE members, manufacturers, importers, brand holders, distributors, and service providers may use the logo to indicate membership in the NAECE program on member webpages. NAECE members include regional, state, utility, and energy-efficiency programs that support the NAECE program through member agreements across the U.S. and Canada. Additional use of the NAECE program logo is assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Usage guidelines
- Prohibited alterations
- The NAECE logo may not be altered, cut apart, separated, or otherwise distorted in perspective or appearance.
- Logo size
- The logo must be large enough so that the N and E designs are clearly legible in all mediums.
- Minimum size
- Do not reproduce the NAECE logo smaller than 0.25 inch (width) and/or 45 pixels (height).
